BPW & International Trade Center: How 2 organizations are working together to empower women

Thursday, May the 15th 2014

Speaker:
Meg Jones, ITC Women & Trade Programme Manager

The International Trade Center (a joint agency of the UN and WTO), has been working with BPW to further two of our main goals. The first goal is “Leading Entrepreneurship,” where the Global Platform for Action on Sourcing for Women Vendors has had great success. The second is the goal of “Leading Empowerment,” which has seen the establishment of the Women’s Empowerment Principles, established by UN Women and the UN Global Compact with seven steps for companies to take to empower women in the workplace and the marketplace.

Meg Jones, 2013 OWIT Woman of the Year, has been an important contributor to both these projects as ITC Women & Trade Programme Manager. A former Deputy Director of the Evian Group at IMD, Meg is a dynamic speaker with an incredible depth of international experience. Come join us to hear her story.
